Kailash Kher - the name synonymous with Sufi music is back with his latest album. A fresh take on Sufism, this album will present Kailash Kher in a never seen before light. The album consists of 8 songs and boasts of many firsts. It’s the first time ever that Kailash Kher has seamlessly fused the modern with the tradition by using many specialised form of music pieces like Flamenco by a Spanish artiste, Saxophone by Garth Brooks and others. Shehnai too has been used as an introductory piece in one of the songs and has been played by none other than Pandit Shree S. Ballesh from South.
The album has a mix of various moods and makes the listener feel Kailash’s heart. While the song “Teri Berukhiyan” has a grunge feel and talks about the pain and agony of a person who has been ruthlessly shunned by his lover, the song “O Jogi” has a fun electic quirky feel and is a modern day take on Mandakini’s efforts to allure Vishwamitra out of his Tapasya. On the other hand the song “ Guru Ghantaal” takes you on a high, literally in the world of nasha. “Ishq Anokha” song talks about a person’s inability to express his love with deep honesty. With “Vaari Vaari”, “Hogi teri Meherbaniyan” & “Siyatara” the band reconnects the listener back to the soul and magic of their first song “Teri deewani”.
